This past year has been one of the hardest yet, as we said goodbye to our beloved Tigger—just nine months after welcoming his human brother into the world. Though the pain is still raw, we can’t help but smile at the countless memories and the joy he brought into our lives over the last nine years. To honor Tigger and give back to the foster community that gave us so much, I’ve decided to lace up and run in this year’s Howloween 5K for Home At Last Dog Rescue.
Tigger came to us as our first foster, a pup who we thought would be with us for just a short while on his way to a forever home. But with his irresistible charm, playful spirit, and, mostly well-behaved nature, Tigger quickly became our "forever." From spontaneous adventures to emergency vet trips (thanks to his forbidden snack choices), he filled our lives with love, laughter, and a little bit of chaos.
One of the greatest gifts of having Tigger was fostering other dogs. Helping them find their forever families was our way of paying it forward, and we’re still in touch with many adopters who share stories of their fur babies living their best lives.
